It is a well written book. I have been married for 30+ years to a persian guy, my hubby and have been in Iran several times. The brief history and description of the culture was excellent. Enough to establish the basis for everything else. The description of the parties not just what you can see, but the feeling the atmosphere, everything was described in an excellent way. It was a travel in time for me. Now I am preparing the sofreh for my daughter in law and I bought one for her and one for me. Is excellent, it provides information that even many Iranians sometimes don't know or even remember!!. Excellent book for those of us that have to get a course on Iranian wedding ceremonies and parties. It explains very well the Iranian culture even though the intent is to explain the wedding ceremony. Hospitality and politeness are a most in any Iranian house, and family is forever first. Well written and fun to read, I wish I had this when I got married!!! Is a must to have for any non-persian marrying a Persian.Product details

I ordered this book for my daughter who recently got engaged. She absolutely loves it and has began to use it as inspiration for her upcoming wedding! The Persian Wedding Book is easy to read, and is filled with valuable advice on everything you need to know before attending or hosting a Persian Wedding. The photos are gorgeous as well. I would definitely recommend this book! It is a must read.
This book is full of insight regarding the meaning behind the beautiful traditions that comprise a Persian wedding. The pictures are beautiful and the stories are enchanting. I saw the online video which is a preview to this book ([...]) and it is magical. I highly recommend this book.
A very easy and entertaining book to read.. It gave me the 101 on Persian culture and wedding traditions. It has certainly helped me (and my wedding suppliers) become familiar into how to create the Persian Sofreh! Well done Christen!

The imagery in this book are absolutely amazing. I bought this book as a perfect swiss army coffee table book. Someone mentions a friend/sibling/relative having a wedding? Bring out the book. Discussion about traveling overseas? Bring out the book. Interested in photography about foreign customs? Bring out the book. It has such great versatility either as a gift, ideas for planning a wedding, or just to explore something a little different than the norm. The artistic cover always brings up questions and the information inside is very educational and thought provoking. I am not a wedding book kind of guy, but I do enjoy stepping out of my boundaries from time to time when something captivates me enough and this book did just that and more.
